Prototypist is free to use. By signing in you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

Your designs are yours

You own what you design. You let us store and process it so the app can work: show it, check it, turn it into drawings and guides, and pass it to the AI apps you connect. If you share a guide, anyone can see that shared copy until you stop sharing it.

What you share

When you share a guide or post a photo of your build, you let anyone view it, print the guide, and make their own copy of the design to change, which credits yours. Share only what is yours to share: your own designs and photos, nothing copied without credit, nothing offensive, and nothing that would hurt someone who built it as shown. Anyone can report something that breaks these rules; reported guides and posts can be hidden while a moderator looks, and taken down.

Build with care

The checks, cut lists and guides help you plan; they are not engineering certification. Timber, sheets and steel vary: measure your real pieces, test joints in scrap, use the safety gear each step names, and do not rely on a guide for anything that holds people up or holds a load overhead without a qualified person’s say-so. You are responsible for what you build and how you use it.

Your AI, your choice

You choose which AI apps to connect and what to ask them. Every change they make is shown and can be undone. You can disconnect them at any time from your account.

Fair use

Do not use Prototypist to break the law, to attack it or other people, or to store anything you have no right to. There are limits on how much anyone can do each minute and each day so the service stays free for everyone. We may suspend accounts that abuse it.

As it is

The service is provided as it is, without guarantees, and may change or stop. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using it, including anything built from a design or guide. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law.
